Inheritacne of Fruit Rind , Fruit Flesh , and Fruit Shape in Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsum. et. Nakai)

Abstract
Genetic analysis was conducted for fruit rind color, fruit flesh color, striped rind and fruit shape in watermelon (Citrullus lanatus (Thumb.) Matsum. et. Nakai). Yellow fruit color was recessive to green or bright green fruit color. Black fruit rind color was incomplete dominant to green and bright green. Color intensity of fruit flesh, L, a, and b values were different according to the cross combinations. In most cross combinations, color intensity value of F©û showed medium value between parents and affected by incomplete dominant gene. Striped rind and oval fruit were dominant to non-striped rind and spherical fruit, respectively. The striped rind showed high linkage relationships with fruit color, but showed independant relationships with fruit shape.
